The Simon K.Y. Lee FoundationThe Simon K.Y. Lee Foundation is a philanthropic foundation governed and led by a local family. While the Foundation is currently undertaking a philanthropic program targeted towards the elderly, the Foundation has entered a new phase in its development and intends to embark on a new philanthropic program serving socioeconomically disadvantaged children in Hong Kong. To this end, the Foundation is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of:
Job responsibilities:
· Perform research to identify critical needs, gaps, and philanthropic opportunities in the Foundation's focus areas, including conducting interviews with experts in the field
· Screen and review proposals, including conducting site visits and other due diligence
· Monitor the implementation of projects supported by the Foundation; in doing so, suggest mid-course corrections as necessary, and identify lessons and best practices
· Establish a network with NGOs and other grantmakers working in the Foundation's focus areas to identify opportunities for collaboration
· Organize publicity events to ensure that the Foundation's contributions are appropriately acknowledged
· Perform financial analyses to track the payment of grants
The ideal candidate should:
· Have a Bachelor's degree in social work, non-profit management, or similar (Masters preferred)
· Have at least five years of work experience in the social/NGO sector, preferably for a grantmaker or in elderly or child services
· Be able to work independently with little supervision
· Be interested in the field of philanthropy and aware of latest trends and best practices in grantmaking globally
· Have good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese
· Be comfortable speaking and working with people from all walks of life - marginalized children, frontline social workers, as well as senior professors
